Patrol Leaders!

Patrol Leaders hold one of the most important leadership positions in the troop. They are the most dedicated and responsible of the troop body, and serve as representatives for all the boys in the troop. They truly determine the success of the troop, based on how well they are able to manage, teach, and ultimately lead their scouts.

Here are some resources/FAQ: I want to take my patrol on an outing or service project? What do I need to do?
Thank you for showing the initiative for engaging your patrol in an activity!  It's a great way to help them bond as a team.  Some basic guidelines include:

  • Planning an itinerary, map, schedule, trip plan, and communicating with all of the attendees' parents is a must.  You will possibly have some paperwork that they will need to have signed.
  • Communicate with the Senior Patrol Leader ahead of time - before the event - in order to receive Patrol of the Month credit.  Ideally, send him an email at troop1hb@gmail.com with an itinerary, expected list of attendees, thorough summary of the event and what you'll be doing, and maybe afterwards send him some pictures of the event to show how well it went!
  • Ensuring that at least 1 Youth Protection Trained adult is present throughout the event.
